A CASE STUDY ON OPTIMIZING MAINTENANCE STRATEGY BY USING LUMADA APM

In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, asset-intensive industries such as utilities are continuously adapting to new technologies and methodologies. The drive for digital transformation, adherence to increasing safety standards, managing an aging workforce, extending the life of aging assets, and the adoption of standards like ISO 55000 are pushing organizations towards more intelligent asset management practices. The integration of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and enhanced machine learning in Asset Performance Management (APM) is becoming essential for maintaining operational resilience, ensuring safety, and achieving business profitability.

This workshop will build upon the concepts introduced in the speech "Restoring Inherent System Reliability: Harnessing APM and Advanced Analytics," by providing a practical, hands-on experience with Hitachi Energy’s Lumada APM. We will focus on a comprehensive case study that showcases how to optimize maintenance strategies using advanced reliability models and predictive analytics. Participants will learn how to use Lumada APM to assess asset conditions, predict potential failures, and plan maintenance actions effectively.
Key components of the workshop will include:
• Prediction of potential failures in network: Structured framework that applies a risk-based segmentation to analyze the network
• Design of intervention strategies for failure prevention and risk management: focusing time and resources on the assets that matter the most
• Data driven decision making - selecting the correct Asset sustainment strategy for the network

By the end of the workshop, participants will be equipped with practical skills and knowledge to implement advanced APM solutions, improve asset reliability, and optimize maintenance strategies. Siddhanta Suryabanshi

Siddhanta currently works in a Senior Pre-sales consultant role in EMEA, part of asset management advisory in the region. He is focused on Asset Performance Management (APM) offering of Hitachi Energy’s Asset Management portfolio. Prior to Hitachi Energy, he has worked in Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Accenture Strategy, and Collins Aerospace. Siddhanta has 7+ years of experience in:

- Oil and Gas industry - focused mainly on operations and process efficiency.

- Aerospace industry - focused mainly on Supply chain and procurement.

- Utility industry - focused mainly on Asset Management, Asset life cycle management etc.

Siddhanta holds a full-time MBA degree in general management and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. He is also a certified Green belt in Lean Six Sigma.
