Removal of varnish and other solid contaminant in lubrication systems
Case study: gas turbine lubrification - cleaning of the lubricant system and oil charge replacement with its filtration. In lubrication systems, a very impactful oil degradation phenomenon is the formation of varnish and sludge due to the high working thermal stresses. Their high presence can cause machine downtime with high productivity losses and damage to components. The removal of varnish and sludge is of great relevance in hydraulic systems both to reduce the unwanted stops and to avoid the contamination of the new lubricant charge. This leads to an increase in the useful life of the lubricant. We will therefore present a case study to report a concrete reality that can make us understand the importance of certain technical consultancy interventions.
