ABSTRACT
MAKING THE WORLD A SAFER AND CHEAPER PLACE WITH ROBOTICS
The safety of industrial sites (petrochemical, chemical, nuclear and many others) requires regular inspection and maintenance of their infrastructures. Non-destructive testing (NDT) of these infrastructures is problematic as they can be located in dangerous or hard to reach environments. In order to improve the accessibility, reliability, safety and cost of inspections and maintenance, robotic applications have been developed.
Hibot, is an innovative Japanese robotic company which provides robotic tools utilized in different type of infrastructures. The presentation will introduce hibot main solutions, such as the Float Arm the new snake manipulator, designed for access applications in confined spaces and born from the use inside the Fukushima power plant.
All data collected by hibot solutions are managed and processed by a digital platform named hibox which will be also introduced.
Several videos and images from different uses cases will be presented.
