ABSTRACT

THE CURSED ELECTRICAL PANEL, AND HOW (ALSO) ISO 45001 COULD HAVE SAVED ASKAN

In terms of maintenance of production plants, the backbone of every manufacturing company, revamping activities represent a phase in the life of equipment that is almost always present in factories around the world. Both for economic advantages and because they often represent the know-how developed over time by the company which is not always immediately available on the market. Furthermore, the change brought about by the introduction of new plants does not always adapt to the organization and above all to the
production areas and existing plants.
Modernizing the existing environment, therefore, has many advantages. And multiple pitfalls.
Starting from a case history of a fatal injury of a young maintenance worker intent on carrying out a "mold change" on a thermoforming machine, a routine operation for the company, but not for the inexperienced worker. The factors influencing the accident dynamics will be analysed, from those close to those that are remote, carrying out an initial legal-legal focus and subsequently a technological one from which to extrapolate the technical and organizational measures which, if they had been adopted, would certainly have avoided the fatal event.
